The Department of Biostatistics currently includes two full professors and 20 team members, see www.ebpi.uzh.ch/en/aboutus/departments/biostatistics.html for details. We develop and apply statistical methodology for clinical study design and analysis, survival analysis, infectious disease epidemiology and forecasting, evidence synthesis, meta-research and studies on reproducibility.

The group collaborates with numerous departments and institutes of the Faculty of Medicine and is the major contributor to the UZH Master Program in Biostatistics at the Faculty of Science, see www.biostat.uzh.ch. We have extensive expertise in the training of undergraduate and graduate students, most notably in the Epidemiology and Biostatistics PhD program of the Life Science Zurich Graduate School. Most of our courses are taught in English. We are committed to high standards of research quality and integrity and host the Center for Reproducible Science (CRS, www.crs.uzh.ch), a multi-disciplinary and cross-faculty endeavour to improve the robustness and effectiveness of empirical research within and beyond UZH.

Your responsibilities

As a member of the Department of Biostatistics you will develop and extend your research agenda in statistics and biostatistics. You are also expected to contribute to teaching and supervision in our graduate programs in biostatistics.

Your profile

A suitable candidate holds a PhD in biostatistics, statistics or a related field, has a strong record in statistical methodology and collaborative medical or epidemiological research and the potential and ambition to pursue an academic career.
