One-day Workshop on Survival Analysis 2017 announcement

The One-day Workshop on Survival Analysis (WSA2017) will take place in Lisbon on January 27th, 2017, being organized by the Research Centre CEAUL (Centro de Estatística e Aplicações da Universidade de Lisboa), and also integrated in the activities of the Section of Biometry of SPE (Sociedade Portuguesa de Estatística). 

The workshop will include presentations by invited speakers and posters (up to three submitted posters will be selected for oral presentation). The invited speakers are the professors Fabrizio Ruggeri (CNR-IMATI Milano, Italy), Antonio Carlos Pedroso de Lima (Universidade de São Paulo, Brazil), Bernard Rachet (London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, United Kingdom), and Jacobo de Uña-Álvarez (Universidad de Vigo, Spain).

The main goal of this workshop is to bring together national and international researchers and practitioners, who are working in the field of survival analysis, as well as reliability, duration analysis and event history analysis, including their applications in Medicine, Biology, Engineering, Economics, Sociology, Environment, Public Health, etc.

The Workshop has a maximum number of 50 participants. The official language of the Workshop is English. Students (Bachelor/Master/PhD) may apply to a full reduction of the workshop registration fee.

For the Portuguese speaking community, there is also a short course, reviewing theory and some applications in survival analysis, by the professors Cristina Rocha and Ana Luísa Papoila at the same location on January 26th, 2017.
