Bayesian Learning for Decision Making in the Big Data Era

Do you have a strong statistical background?

QUT’s School of Mathematical Sciences is seeking Postdoctoral Researchers and Postgraduates to contribute to the development of world-class theory, methodology, computation and/or applications in health, environment or society

·         The Postdoctoral position(s) of Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow, School of Mathematical Sciences is now up on the Jobs at QUT (https://qut.nga.net.au/cp/index.cfm?event=jobs.listJobs&jobListid=73e3bb51-1aa7-db29-2ea3-52af99b4f747) website and is also on http://www.seek.com.au/Job/29558269/ – Closing date is 7th October 2015

·         We are also offering up to three PhD scholarships to create new methodology for Bayesian statistics and translate this to real-world challenges in industry, environment and health – http://www.seek.com.au/Job/29452536

– Applications will remain open until suitable applicants are found.

The positions will be part of the research team that is being compiled by Professor Kerrie Mengersen under her Laureate Fellowship.

This prestigious program, funded by Australian Research Council, is awarded to a small number of outstanding researchers of international repute.

Kerrie’s project focuses on Bayesian statistical methods for the big data era.

Big data has arrived, and with it a huge global demand for statistical knowledge and skills to analyse these data for improved learning and decision-making.

This project will seek to address this need by creating new methodology for Bayesian statistics and translating this to real-world challenges in industry, environment and health.

The positions will be embedded in Kerrie’s large Bayesian Research and Applications Group (BRAG) at QUT.  https://bragqut.wordpress.com/
