The Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) looks for a candidate to work in the project: Statistics for Metagenomics of the Human Microbiome; Project Supervisor: Chaysavanh Manichanh; Research group: MetaLAB. The aim is to develop and/or implement statistical tools to analyze microbial communities. Meta-omics approaches have been intensively used over the last 15 years to study the composition and functions of the human microbiome (the other Human Genome) in health and disease conditions. Working environment and facilities: Research Institute Hospital Vall d’Hebron: http://www.ir.vhebron.net/. Being part of a clinical unit and collaborating with various clinicians, we have direct access to samples from patients suffering from different disorders. We have a wet and dry lab, in which we are processing all the samples for sequencing and analyzing all the data. We have collaborations with the CNAG and UAB for Illumina sequencing. Salary: According to experience and academic marks (with an American grant).
