Questionnaire: https://ec.europa.eu/eusurvey/runner/OPC-EU-Social-Surveys – available online until 15 November
Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, is currently reviewing the framework for the production of its data about the people and households in the EU. This data helps the EU to make the best policies for its citizens, and the citizens to understand and compare the social situation in the different EU Member States.
The production of European social statistics is challenged by a changing environment characterised by:
- new data needs and expectations from the users,
- innovation in methodology and information technologies (IT),
- availability of new data sources (such as administrative data),
- pressure on resources of national administrations (cost of statistical operations),
- increasing concern for response burden.
The European Commission would like to invite you to make your voice heard and help the EU to improve its ways of producing data on Europe’s societies. Please spend 10 minutes and reply to a questionnaire (at the link above) that assesses the problems at stake and the impacts of possible solutions.
Thank you very much!
Gallo Gueye
Director of Social Statistics at Eurostat
