Salary Grade 8 – £37,394 to £45,954 per annum (approx. 50,855 euros/57,212 USD to 62,497 euros/70,309 USD)
Salary Grade 9 – £48,743 to £54,841 per annum (approx. 66,290 euros/74,576 USD to 74,583 euros/83,906 USD)
Full-time Open ended contract
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The post holder will be responsible to the Head of the Biostatistics Research Group and will undertake research, scholarship, teaching and administration and other activities supporting the work of the Department of Health Sciences and developing and enhancing its reputation, both internal and external to the University.
The post holder will be expected to have demonstrated expertise and outstanding research achievement/potential in Biostatistics, with interests which complement or enhance existing programmes/strengths within the Biostatistics Research Group – these are primarily the development and application of
(Bayesian) statistical methods in Health Technology Assessment (HTA) and chronic disease epidemiology.

In terms of teaching – the main responsibility of the post holder will be to the long standing MSc in Medical Statistics, including project supervision.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:
As a Lecturer you will be an excellent Biostatistics researcher, as demonstrated by publications in peer-reviewed journals and with potential awards of external funding.
You will also be someone who can undertake high quality teaching in Biostatistics at post-graduate level.
As a Senior Lecturer you will be an excellent researcher, as demonstrated by publications in leading peer-reviewed journals and successful awards of external funding.
You will also be someone with experience of undertaking high quality teaching in Biostatistics at post-graduate level.
