Applications are now open for an exciting Medical Statistician / Senior Statistician position at The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR), Greater London.

The Institute of Cancer Research, one of the world’s leading cancer research centres, is looking for a Medical Statistician / Senior Statistician to join its expanding statistical team of over 20 statisticians at the Clinical Trials and Statistics Unit (ICR-CTSU) at its Sutton site. This post offers an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and well-motivated statistician to work in a dynamic and supportive academic environment at one of the leading National Cancer Research Institute cancer trials units.

ICR-CTSU manages an exciting portfolio of national and international phase II and III clinical trials; and an expanding number of early phase I/II cancer trials. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team on the statistical development, oversight and analysis of a number of clinical trials within ICR-CTSU’s portfolio as well as on associated trials methodology research and translational biomarker research studies. You will be supported in your career development with a range of formal courses and on-the-job training as appropriate.

You will be a highly motivated statistician with a post-graduate qualification in statistics (or a first degree in statistics and practical experience in medical statistics), a sound understanding of clinical trials and experience in applying statistical methods to real data.

Effective oral and written communication skills and enthusiasm for collaborating with researchers from different disciplines are essential. In addition, proficiency and experience with the statistical programming language R or STATA will be required.

Appointment will be on a fixed term contract for 2 years in the first instance, with the potential for renewal thereafter.

Salary Range: £32,844 – £45,224
