Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Pharmacoepidemiology (140693)

 

Grade 7: Salary in the range of £32,236 – £39,609 per annum

 

Applications are invited for the position of a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Pharmacoepidemiology to join Musculoskeletal Pharmaco- and Device epidemiology research group led by Professor Daniel Prieto-Alhambra at the Botnar Research Centre, Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences (NDORMS), Oxford.

As a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Pharmacoepidemiology you will support a suite of research projects from inception through to reporting and dissemination/publication as well as analyse data following pre-specified analysis plan/s and/or approved protocols and you will report research findings in the form of conference abstracts at national and international conferences. You will collaborate with national and international partners to develop and maintain the research agenda and you will contribute to the smooth running of the Group’s research programme by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a very diverse range of people.

 

You will hold a Doctoral degree (or near completion) in medical statistics, epidemiology, pharmaco-epidemiology or a related field. Experience in pharmacoepidemiology and/or studies using routinely collected health data, knowledge of medical statistics and epidemiology as well demonstrable expertise in the use of statistical packages, preferably SAS or/and R and are essential. Experience of conducting detailed reviews of recent literature, good track record of peer reviewed scientific publications and experience in propensity score/s, instrumental variable/s, and/or other methods to adjust for confounding for indication in pharmaco-epidemiological studies are desirable.

This is a full-time fixed-term appointment for 2 years.
