PhD in Bioinformatics, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics or related fields. Experience in transcriptomics, gene regulatory networks or neuronoanatomy will be valued. Proficiency in English is required; also, in R, Python… Strong skills in machine learning and Bayesian networks are necessary.

He/she will undertake a multidisciplinary project to understand human brain transcriptome data (coming from the Allen gene expression brain atlas). There are three main objectives: estimate density profiles of each cell type from the transcriptome (regression models), create transcriptomic brain regions which are molecularly similar (probabilistic model-based clustering), and build gene regulatory networks (Bayesian networks). This project is part of the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Flagship Human Brain Project (Specific Grant Agreement No. 785907).
