Applications are invited for two positions as professor or associate professor at the Oslo Centre for Biostatistics and Epidemiology, University of Oslo. We wish to appoint at professor level in at least one of the two positions. 

For one position, we are seeking a statistician with competence and interest in methodological approaches to complex models and data and computationally intensive inference, with application to the life sciences. 

For the other position, we are looking for a statistician with competence and interest in methodological approaches to the challenges of genetics, genomics and molecular biology in general.

However, both positions are also open for applicants with competence in other fields of biostatistics, but given equal merits, the prioritized themes of research will be preferred.

The successful professor candidates will have an exceptional research record, as judged by the strength of their scientific, peer-reviewed publications. She/he is an innovative and independent researcher and leader in her or his field. The ability to win research funding will be essential. Candidates must demonstrate team spirit in developing their own research, with strong interpersonal skills. Active collaborations, interdisciplinary and internationally, are expected. Candidates at the associate professor level will have started to achieve results in these directions and show strong potentials.
